“I am among those that think that science has great beauty. A scientist in his laboratory is not only a technician: he is also a child placed before natural phenomena which impress him like a fairy tale.”
Marie Curie (1867 – 1934)
“Mathematics is Queen of the Sciences and Arithmetic the Queen of Mathematics. She often condescends to render service to astronomy and other natural sciences, but under all circumstances the first place is her due.”
C.F. Gauss (1777 – 1855)
“Even in the realm of things which do not claim actuality, and do not even claim possibility, there exist beyond dispute sets which are infinite.”
Bernhard Bolzano (1781 – 1848)
“I have discovered a truly remarkable proof of this theorem which this margin is too small to contain.”
Pierre de Fermat (1601 – 1665)
“However impenetrable it seems, if you don’t try it, then you can never do it.”
Andrew Wiles (1953 – )
“Many who have had an opportunity of knowing any more about mathematics confuse it with arithmetic, and consider it an arid science. In reality, however, it is a science which requires a great amount of imagination.”
Sofia Kovalevskaya (1850 – 1891)
“Presumption should never make us neglect that which appears easy to us, nor despair make us lose courage at the sight of difficulties.”
Benjamin Banneker (1731 – 1806)

PROCESS

Our initial meeting gives you an opportunity to meet me face-to-face and ask all the questions you can muster. We have numerous questions as well, all aimed at learning more about you, where you are in your educational journey, and what are your needs. No commitments! AND IT’S FREE!
When you are ready to move forward, we begin to build a detailed tutoring outline of your immediate goals, month goals, and long-terms goals. Next, we begin brainstorming and mapping how you can reach these goals. I assure you the more time we place here, the more success you will have.
We work to create a schedule that works for you. Scheduling should be adjustable and flexible as well as timely in the sense the tutoring sessions are not during times you have other interests arising from any daily routines or desires.
We follow your plan and schedule, all while challenging your skills, content knowledge, and making adjustments to target any unforeseen needs. This aspect is honestly the best part because we simply dive off into the logic and principles behind your tasks. We start with your immediate needs while paying close attention to how they support your long-term goals.
We need to keep track of how you are doing. This aspect does include grades but it also includes your motivation to learn as well as your content acquisition and more. How are we addressing your learning style? Are you getting rest? How do you feel about the subject? These are just some of the questions whose answers may be beneficial in addressing new problems or areas of concern. Exploring these questions can also help you refocus your actions in reaching your goals.
You learn when you are motivated to learn. This motivation to learn is strongly correlated with you reaching your goals. Reaching your goals implants upon you the confidence that you can learn, no matter the circumstances of your educational experience and this confidence cultivates your motivation and ability to grow as an individual. When our students get here, our job is essentially complete. Why? Once you know that you don’t need a great teacher, tutor, mentor, professor, resources or any other entity to learn, then you become a train of success whose direction is toward a bright future. That is, you are now an independent learner.

Science isn’t about memorization, it’s about discovery.

Not “naturally” gifted, advanced, or capable at math or science? I bet differently.
