Our initial meeting gives you an opportunity to meet me face-to-face and ask all the questions you can muster. We have numerous questions as well, all aimed at learning more about you, where you are in your educational journey, and what are your needs. No commitments! AND IT’S FREE!
When you are ready to move forward, we begin to build a detailed tutoring outline of your immediate goals, month goals, and long-terms goals. Next, we begin brainstorming and mapping how you can reach these goals. I assure you the more time we place here, the more success you will have.
We work to create a schedule that works for you. Scheduling should be adjustable and flexible as well as timely in the sense the tutoring sessions are not during times you have other interests arising from any daily routines or desires.
We follow your plan and schedule, all while challenging your skills, content knowledge, and making adjustments to target any unforeseen needs. This aspect is honestly the best part because we simply dive off into the logic and principles behind your tasks. We start with your immediate needs while paying close attention to how they support your long-term goals.
We need to keep track of how you are doing. This aspect does include grades but it also includes your motivation to learn as well as your content acquisition and more. How are we addressing your learning style? Are you getting rest? How do you feel about the subject? These are just some of the questions whose answers may be beneficial in addressing new problems or areas of concern. Exploring these questions can also help you refocus your actions in reaching your goals.
You learn when you are motivated to learn. This motivation to learn is strongly correlated with you reaching your goals. Reaching your goals implants upon you the confidence that you can learn, no matter the circumstances of your educational experience and this confidence cultivates your motivation and ability to grow as an individual. When our students get here, our job is essentially complete. Why? Once you know that you don’t need a great teacher, tutor, mentor, professor, resources or any other entity to learn, then you become a train of success whose direction is toward a bright future. That is, you are now an independent learner.
